Minimize your carbon footprints in the water

As surfers the ocean is our home. That’s why we need to make every effort to lessen our negative impact on the places that we visit.

If you want your feet to stick to your surfboard while dropping into waves, you will need one of the most basic surf products that we use for every session: a bar of some nice, sticky surf wax.

But did you know that usual surf wax contains a lot of harmful chemicals which then are released in the ocean when we use it? Here are some dirty facts:

Paraffin - that is the ingredient most surf waxes are made of. It is a by-product of the petroleum extraction process. And yes you can guess right: this process is all based on nasty, toxic, petrochemicals.

When the process is complete paraffin wax is what is left; it is then bleached white and wrapped up in a nice plastic bag - ready for surfers to rub on their board.

Go green - use sustainable surf wax!

Good news, it is possible to produce sustainable surf wax, which does not harm the environment.

Our friends from NATURAL KIKI WAX embrace the mission to make our ocean cleaner in the future with their sustainable surf wax. It is all-natural, eco-friendly and made out of bee wax - no paraffin! It is designed to keep your feet on your board while pulling into tubes, boosting airs, and every other type of wave riding. Depending which location you surf you can choose between wax for cold and warm water.

Enjoy the surf, stick to your board and do something for the environment the same time! (The fishies in the ocean will thank you for that)
